Modern Slavery Statement

As a provider of outsourced services via an offshore team in the Philippines, Sonnet is acutely aware of the opportunities which can be exploited by unscrupulous organisations and we are committed to being diligent in ensuring human trafficking does not occur within our business nor within our supply chain.

Operations

Sonnet Group Pty Ltd (ABN 36119988500) is based on Australia and provides white labelled web development and digital marketing services to agencies in Australia, New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom.

All Sonnet’s delivery is from our team in the Philippines.

Our supply chain

We have a simple supply chain.

  • Our Philippines team is hired via a staff leasing company in the Philippines
  • We use 2 different website hosting providers

We establish a relationship of trust with all our suppliers and our supplier selection criteria include ensuring an alignment of integrity and values with those of Sonnet.

Area of high risk

Sonnet’s delivery team is based in the Philippines and we identify that this is a location where there is a higher prevalence of slavery and poor employment conditions and have therefore implemented policies and procedures to ensure this does not occur within our business and strive to be an employer with a great culture where our Philippine based staff love to work:

  • Our provider of HR and payroll services, Parallel Outsourcing, is co-founded by the Sonnet founders
  • Parallel Outsourcing is dedicated to upholding all aspects of Philippine labour law to ensure staff are protected
  • Sonnet employment contracts include additional benefits over and above standard Philippine labour law including extended leave periods
  • We closely monitor the work hours of our staff to ensure they are not overworked and are getting appropriate work breaks
  • We have a monthly lifestyle allowance to encourage employees to undertake health and wellbeing activities outside of work

Commitment to act on modern slavery practices

We are committed to ensuring that all our suppliers have not adopted any unethical practices including human trafficking and slavery activities.

Should we become aware of any such practices within our supply chain we would immediately cut ties with the supplier and report the companies to the appropriate authority.

We will continue to uphold these practices in the future and are committed to reducing modern slavery practices within our industry.
